Fashion to Figure FW15

09 24 15

SO GUYS, While I was in New York, I got a chance to visit the Fashion to Figure headquarters/showroom with Jessica. It’s an adorable space near the Garment District and everyone was so, so nice. We were able to take a sneak peek of ABOUT A MILLION pieces that will be available on their website, coming out October- December.

I’m not just saying this because they let me come visit their super cool space: I really, really liked most of the new garments. I took approximately a jillion photos of my favourite pieces to show you guys so WITHOUT FURTHER ADO:

The company was founded by two of Lane Bryant’s great grandsons.

I was JUST saying to Jess the day before how everyone is selling a faux fur vest now. Literally every store. Home Dept is going to start selling faux fur vests, I guarantee it. I find them cute but they’re all so boring because they’re either black or some version of brown/grey. This one, though, is so unique because of it’s really cool greenish colour. So good for fall.

I’m obsessed with heathered grey anything. 100% buying this pencil skirt. I love the stitching so much- it could be super casual or really easily dressed up.

These suede pieces (3/4 length sleeve top and matching midi skirt) are so perfect for fall/this weird 70’s revival thing going on right now. I love coords and these are super affordable.

This acid wash dress (and the lighter blue one below) are ADORABLE and they’re actually available on the website right now. They were the first things I noticed when I was shown the collections.

Anything faux leather I’m totally on board with.

I want to buy this and wear it with black pantyhose and a leather jacket and listen to Nirvana. I love the subtle high/low hem (I HATE high/low hems but I love them when they’re small. Yanno what I mean?)

I love you a cuLOTte

Do you ever feel an outfit so much that you just need to include like 14 photos of it in a blog post? Sorry not sorry, friends.

These culottes belong to Jessica, my NYFW travel buddy and good friend. As soon as I put them on I went online and bought a pair for myself. Probably not very practical for the upcoming winter, but whatever. Also, I bought this top from Old Navy?? Nine times out of ten when I see someone on the street and I ask them where they got a piece of clothing, they’ll say Old Navy. Which is so bizarre to me because when I think ‘Old Navy’ I have terrible flashbacks of my chubby 11 year old self trying to fit into their neon windbreakers or baby blue pullovers. So I figured, what better location to visit for the first time in 15 years than the one in New York City? They genuinely have some really cute stuff (that goes up to size XXL, hallelujah,) and I’m looking forward to seeing what the Toronto location has to offer.

P.S: I now have a partnership with ShopStyle, which means if you click on the link to the piece of clothing, I get DOLLA DOLLA BILLS YAS STACKS ON DECK, and if you buy it through the link I get money as well. Just wanted to be totally transparent!

Chelsea Market

HAHA HEY FROM NEW YORK. AGAIN. Do I even live in Toronto anymore? Whatever. I love it here.

The past few days have been so fun- lots of fashion shows and events (I’ll do some posts on everything soon. Right now ya just get some outfits.) I decided to take advantage of this NIFTY LIL POSTER in front of Chelsea Market for an outfit backdrop. This shirt has the Toronto Blue Jays logo on it and I actually saw several people wearing Blue Jays jerseys on the street throughout the day. Because they made it into the playoffs. Or the Word Series. Baseball. Sports. Okay. SO I’d make eye contact and smile and do some elaborate shirt pointing, but they’d all just ignore me or look at me like I was an idiot?? Americans are so weird. Here I am just trying to bond with strangers over sports and apparel and our shared love of my city. I HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE IT BETTER THAN THESE NEW YORKERS.
